play it cool

woke up this morning with a bill hailey song going round and round in my head...
so i swore to get the western swingbilly bill hailey early boxset in town, which i've been trying not to do(as i'm wary of country sounding rockabilly) - sadly it had gone by the time i got myself into humvee, so i had to make do with the excellent:

some real gems on there, stuff i'd heard around - and some new artists i hadn't sat down and listened to, quite a few original versions of early songs that made elvis famous...
great stuff...

the whole point of going in to town though was this month's flickrmeet.
i'd organised some new filter+long exposure ideas with the canon, but as it was raining on/off - i chickened out wisely and took the rainproof olympus(so no filters).
got this building, which i'd been planning to shoot for a week or so:

and some other buildings along the way...
not the most productive day, this year i'm going for quality over quantity(unlike some other events i've done!).
but as with most flickr meets, some of the best shots are the ones you don't plan for:, this image of the back-end of fiveways was a vintage shot waiting to happen:

it was bloody cold though...
