shut it....

wooh... it's all a bit connected these days...
just finished a track called shut it(based on hush/deep purple, hence the title...), and i've put it on myspace, reverb nation and even on here within minutes of having finished tweaking it in soundforge...
i've been working on this since i first wrote about wanting to do something HEAVY, and i think it paid off quite well... worth the painfull fingers from bashing the keys to get that choppy hammond sound(actually my roland VK-09 ramped all the way up and played through a boss dynamic wah AW-3... possibly the best pedal i've ever bought, you can choose between bass in or guitar in, the bass in gives you the nice low rumbling distortion effect, when played with a decent hammond clone it all sounds a bit greasy!)... ok, i'm no john lord, but this was a lot of fun to work out!
it's all come a long way since i first started on a page called soundclick and somehow found myself actually charting on the internet download charts and getting in the top ten(well, in the surf instrumental genre anyway...)... and now it's easy to upload everywhere.

shut it is also the title of the excellent sweeny soundtrack album... kind-of where my head is at right now, being heavily into the early JTQ sound of punk-jazz with a liberal dose of booker T and brian auger thrown in for kicks....

and before i forget, an exciting new myspace project i'm working on for someone well-known(not JTQ or brian auger btw)... watch this space for details... let's just say i'm shocked and honoured to be able to do it for him!
keeping it under my fedora for the time being, as it's all getting put together for his yay-or-nay first - but it's already looking good, and i'm hoping to use it to connect all the people i know who will want to hear his music with the man himself.
woo-hoo!
